Climate Zones
Over the past years, Australia has experienced some extreme weather from droughts to significant rainfall. The climatic tolerances of a variety must be measured not just according to temperature extremes, but also by seasonal rainfall patterns.
The map shows four major climatic zones for the Australian continent.
Zone 1
Mild to warm dry Summers, cool wet Winters.
Zone 2
Warm wet Summers.
Zone 3
Hot dry Summers, cold to mild Winters.
Zone 4
Hot wet Summers.
